Untold story of Miss Anambra sex tape saga

As Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, organiser of the Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant installs another Miss Anambra today, in Akwa, the state capital, following the sudden removal of the reigning queen, Chidinma Okeke, there are indications that trouble looms ahead as the embattled ex-beauty queen has alleged a threat to her life for wanting to unravel the mystery behind her dethronement. Miss Okeke was dethroned after the allegedly sex tape video of herself and friend hit the internet.

The dethroned queen called for a press conference Thursday, to unravel the circumstances surrounding her predicament, but the forces behind her ordeal are said to be spiting fire, warning her against the consequences of what she wants to do.

However, the ex-beauty queen day morning took to her Facebook page to raise alarm following the threat to her life. In her post, wrote, “Good morning all. This is Chidinma Okeke, Miss Anambra 2015, considering the need to make the world know the truth about the trending scandal and what we have been going through before, then and now I decided to address a world press conference at the NUJ press centre Awka today. But from the moment I made public this intention I have been under siege of threats by my black- mailers and traducers. They are seriously threatening to shoot me at the press conference if I ever open my mouth to say real truth about the ugly episode. My life is under serious threat if they succeed in killing me today the world already know my traducers the truth is unearthed.” Meanwhile, tongues are wagging that some power brokers in the Anambra Broadcasting Service, organizers of the pageantry are behind ex beauty queen’s ordeal. According to an unconfirmed online source (Secret Reporters), Chidinma has been having an affair with one of the top management staff of the organization. Troubled started after she refused to cooperate with the said ‘oga’, who wanted his other friends to also have a taste of her. She was said to have been threatened, and could not bear the pressure any more, hence she decided to surrender the Kia car and her crown. Recall that the video released late last week, showed the Nigerian pageant winner in an explicit scene with another woman, who at first was not identified. Okeke spoke out immediately after the video began spreading on social media, saying that the video was actually another person and blaming what appeared to be her appearance on trick photography. The attention of the management of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, organisers of the Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant has been drawn to a video with lurid contents purportedly showing former Miss Anambra, Miss Chidinma Okeke (Miss Anambra 2015).

However the organizers of the Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, released a statement condemning the act. “We wish to make the following clarifications – “The said Miss Chidinma Okeke who is allegedly linked to the lurid content in circulation has served-out her term as Miss Anambra 2015 and handed over the crown in line with the terms and conditions of The Miss Anambra pageant. “We condemn in clear terms any amoral behaviour/ conduct as suggested by the alleged lurid content in circulation and do not condone such. “It is on record that The Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant has been a platform to empower Anambra women and celebrate our rich culture and heritage.

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State is presently holding a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja over the violence that erupted in the state this morning.

Thousands of supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akure, the Ondo State capital, this morning took to the streets to protest the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Mr Jimoh Ibrahim as the party’s governorship candidate for the November 26 governorship election in the state.

The protesters who are from the Senator Ahmed Makarfi faction of the party want INEC to substitute Jimoh Ibrahim’s name with that of Mr Eyitayo Jegede, SAN.

Mimiko who arrived arrived at the villa around 11 am, immediately went into the president’s office to discuss the violence.

Tension started building in the state on Thursday when INEC published the name of Ibrahim among a list of 26 candidates participating in the November 26 governorship election.

Miss Anambra 2015, Chidinma Okeke, lost her crown after an alleged sex tape of herself and a female friend hit the internet. She has since called for a press conference on Thursday, Oct. 27, much to the chagrin of her representatives, who are warning her that it could backfire on her.
She has since taken to Facebook to address the controversy in a new post, according to a report via Vanguard. Okeke revealed to her followers that she has since received death threats after she made it public that she would like to hold a public press conference.

“Good morning all,” she wrote. “This is Chidinma Okeke, Miss Anambra 2015, considering the need to make the world know the truth about the trending scandal and what we have been going through before, then and now I decided to address a world press conference at the NUJ press centre Awka today. But from the moment I made public this intention I have been under the siege of threats by blackmailers and traducers.”

“They are seriously threatening to shoot me at the press conference if I ever open my mouth to say real truth about the ugly episode,” she added. “My life is under serious threat if they succeed in killing me today the world already know my traducers the truth is unearthed.”

Rumors are circulating that the Anambra Broadcasting Service, the organizers of the pageant, are behind the beauty queen’s controversy. According to an alleged online source, via Secret Reporters, Chidinma has been allegedly having an affair with the top management staff of the organization.

Miss Anambra 2015 has become the top trending topic on Google for most of this past week, as reported via Daily Trust. It is, in part, due to her sex tape that went viral on social media. It all started when the hashtag #BeautyQueen began to trend on social media; however, it’s not clear on what social media site. A video featuring the pageant queen engaged in lesbian sex acts with one of her close friends named Ada, who is also said to be a beauty queen as well, was released to the public.

Okeke spoke out immediately about the scandal shortly after the sex tape went viral on social media. She insisted that the video was of another person and not herself and that her face was Photoshopped onto that person.

The viral video unveiled a beauty queen’s sexual preference and drew people’s attention. The beauty queen went on her social media pages to deny the video. She explained that her face was superimposed on an existing picture.”

However, the organizers of the Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant, Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), released a statement to confirm that it was Okeke in the footage and they condemn the sexual act.

“We wish to make the following clarifications — The said Miss Chidinma Okeke who is allegedly linked to the lurid content in circulation has served-out her term as Miss Anambra 2015 and handed over the crown in line with the terms and conditions of The Miss Anambra pageant.

“We condemn in clear terms any amoral behaviour/conduct as suggested by the alleged lurid content in circulation and do not condone such.
“It is on record that The Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant has been a platform to empower Anambra women and celebrate our rich culture and heritage.”

It is not clear who leaked Miss Anambra’s alleged sex tape. The blackmailer behind the tape is still unknown and the reasons behind the leak is also still not yet known. In addition, the blackmailer has released part two of the video, which clearly shows the beauty queen’s face in the one-minute footage.

The reason why the news of Miss Anambra is causing global attention is because homosexuality is a crime in her native country of Nigeria and is punishable by law. Okeke could face up to 14 years in prison. While she’s trying to build her brand as a beauty queen, she will have a hard time getting sponsorships since having a sex tape and being homosexual is still considered a stigma in the country, reports Nigeria Today. It seems like some countries still can’t move on from these very normal and human behaviors.

As for Miss Anambra 2015, she plans to hire a lawyer and press charges against the anonymous person responsible for leaking the sex tape.

There may be more trouble coming for dethroned Miss Anambra 2015, Chidinma Okeke, if the word of a source from Awka, Anambra State, holds water. The source who pledged anonymity said that the current trending video online is mild and alleged that Chidinma also engaged in more acts which lasted over one hour.
According to the source, the person releasing the video is not unknown to the former beauty queen as she has severally claimed.

He said the whole episode is as a result of a deal gone wrong, a deal made between the beauty queen and one chief, whose name is being fiercely guarded. In the words of the source: “First, this is an investment gone wrong. Chief (name not disclosed) sponsored Chidinma Okeke to win the pageant. Chief spent up to N 2million to ensure she emerged as the winner against other beautiful contestants. Chief also budgeted for her wardrobe and makeover pre and post beauty contest. The money was released in trenches to Miss Anambra. Chief also took her to various countries including Germany where she met other models based on the contract terms which Miss Chidinma signed with Chief. “Part of the agreement stipulates that Chief would make her a big model and whatever proceeds that come during her reign would be shared as specified in the contract terms. Chidinma consented and signed the deal.

Our source said that Chidinma’s sponsor released just a part of the video after the former beauty queen reneged on their agreement after her victory. “Chidinma emerged as the winner of Miss Anambra, got higher connections and wanted to opt out from the contract without repaying all the expenses Chief incurred. Chief warned of the consequences, but she remained adamant. Chief released a picture to her requesting she comply with the payment and remit the money she is holding before her tenure comes to an end. Chidinma feigned ignorance and even boasted that Chief cannot do anything. It was alleged that she disclosed to a close friend that if chief tried to do anything, they would get him arrested.

That was the beginning of the leak. Information available also claimed that the current trending video online is mild. That they have one showing longer sex action by Chidinma. “Based on the above information, and the fact that Chidinma was a consenting adult as at the time the contract was signed, which reasonably supports the logic behind Chidinma’s silence towards naming the perpetrators; I will advise the family to quit the threat they are making to the man and settle this amicably off the media to avoid further embarrassment for my state, other ‘responsible’ beauty pageants because this is seriously casting them in bad light.” However, Saturday Vanguard has not substantiated these claims as the real culprits have made themselves unavailable for questioning.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has picked Mr Jimoh Ibrahim Folorunso as the official candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the November 26 governorship election in Ondo State.

The commission refused to recognize Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi faction of the party supported by Governor Olusegun Mimiko. Jegede was a former Commissioner for Justice under the Mimiko administration.

In the list of governorship candidates published on its site inecnigeria.org, on Thursday, Jegede’s name was conspicuously missing while Jimoh Ibrahim Folorunsho featured prominently for the PDP.

Also listed as running mate for Ibrahim is Alabi Ebenezer Omotayo.

INEC, it was gathered, decided to name Jimoh Ibrahim as the PDP candidate for the poll because of a federal high court order which expressly ordered INEC to recognize Ibrahim as the PDP candidate.

The commission also listed Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC).

The Commission, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Mrs Auguta Ogakwu on Thursday in Abuja, also released the names of 26 others as candidates cleared for the Nov. 26 state election.

INEC, which listed Alfred Ajayi as running mate to Akeredolu, stated that Ibrahim and his deputy, Alabi Omotayo, were cleared on court order.

The other 26 cleared candidates are Amuda Oladare (Accord); Yinka Orokoto (AA); Francis Ogunjumelo (ACPN); Olusola Oke, (AD); Margareta Ogunyoku-Ojo (ADC); Oluyi Helen (APA) and Francis Alao (APGA).

Also cleared are Funmilayo Ataunoko (BNPP); Fasua Oyeleye (CPP); Adeeyo Bolorundaro (DPC); Falana Julianna (DPP); Odedeyi John (HDP); Samuel Akogunrin (ID); Daniel Ogungbemi (KOWA) and Adeoti Taye (LP).

Other candidates on list are Obayoriju Abass (NCP); Oluwadare Bada (NNPP); Ayibiowu Ige (NUP); Oluwasegun Odidi (DPC); Adeniyan Daniel (PPA); Orunmoluyi Olagbegi (PPN) and Arigbede Gbenga (PRP).

Others are Olu Agunloye (SDP); Olugbenga Falaiye (UDP); Aidi Elijah (UPN) and Anthony Adeniranye (YDP).

According to the Commission, the publication is in accordance with section 34 of the Electoral Act 2010(as amended).

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has again affirmed the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal to try the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki on charges bordering on assets declaration breaches before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Delivering judgment in the appeal filed by Saraki, the Justice Abdul Aboki-led panel of the appeal court on Thursday affirmed the CCT’s jurisdiction after dismissing the appeal filed by Saraki challenging his trial before the tribunal.

All the four other members of the panel unanimously agreed with the lead judgment delivered by Justice Aboki‎ who resolved all the eight issues formulated for determination against Saraki.

In affirming the earlier ruling of the Danladi Umar-led CCT that affirmed the tribunal’s jurisdiction, Justice Aboki held among others that contrary to Saraki’s contention, the Attorney-General of the Federation had the power to institute charges against him before the CCT.

The appeal court also held that under the Constitution, the Code of Conduct wa‎s not under any obligation to invite the appellant to enable him to make written admission of breaches in his asset declaration forms before charges could be initiated against him.

It held that the tribunal had rightly departed from its earlier decision exonerating a former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu‎ on account that he was not invited by the CCB to confront him with the allegations levelled against him.

The court also held that the fact that the charges were initiated 13‎ years after the offences were allegedly committed was immaterial.

Justice Aboki described the contention as sentimental which the court had been enjoined not to delve into.

This was the second time the appeal court would be delivering judgment on the same subject matter of jurisdiction of the CCT to try the Senate President.

The Court of Appeal had last year ruled against Saraki on the jurisdiction of the CCT and asked him to proceed to face the 16 counts preferred against him.

The judgment of the appeal court was validated by the Supreme Court in February.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed.

A top source in the anti-graft agency told our correspondent on Monday that the former FCT minister was arrested around 10.39am on Monday and taken into custody for interrogation by a team of operatives, who were awaiting his arrival.

The source said Mohammed was still writing his statement as of the time of filing this story.

It was gathered that the commission commenced discreet investigations into the activities of the former minister following a petition against him in 2013 while he was still in office.

“We have been on the probe for some times. As we are talking now, the former minister is writing his statement,” the source said.

It was learnt that the EFCC was investigating the ex-minister for alleged fictitious contracts worth N1bn and the allocation of 12 properties and 37 commercial plots of land to a suspected front of Mohammed and a controversial Abuja land swap deal put at N1tn.

It was learnt that prior to the arrest of the ex-minister, the EFCC had interrogated top directors of the FCT.

Those quizzed, the source added, included the Director of Treasury, Ibrahim Bomoi, his counterpart  in charge of Land, Babayo Mainasara, and the Director in charge of Abuja Geographical Information Service, Ms Jamila Tangaza.

The commission was also said to have quizzed the son of the former minister, Samshudeen Bala, and one Tariq Hammoud, said to be a front for the minister.

“His arrest is the high point of the investigation in which the owners of 16 companies have been questioned by the EFCC for being linked to allegations of awarding fictitious contracts,” he stated.

It was further learnt that as the investigation progressed, the commission seized four houses said to be owned by the former FCT minister, and his son in August.

The commission put the value of the seized houses at N872m.

It was learnt that commission had secured a temporary asset forfeiture order in August to seize two houses, located at number 1 and 3 Muktah Street, Asokoro, Abuja.

The commission was also said to have confiscated three duplexes from the ex-minister’s son, valued at N225m.

Efforts to confirm the arrest of Mohammed from the Head of Media and Publicity, EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, did not succeed as calls to the mobile of the commission’s spokesman failed to connect.

A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Mohammed, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Details of Mr. Mohammed’s arrest remained fuzzy as at the time of filing this report, but sources confirmed he was in detention at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Monday night, Leadership newspaper reports.

Another source said Mr. Mohammed’s detention was still being processed at about 8:45 p.m. on Monday. He is expected to spend at least Monday night at the commission’s office.

The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, could not be reached for comment late Monday.

Mr. Mohammed, a former senator from Bauchi State, served as the Minister of the FCT under President Goodluck Jonathan between 2010-15.

The current economic situation in the country certainly affects everybody and everything, even Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is groaning.

Investigations at Dansa Foods Nig. Ltd, located off Lagos-Badagry expressway revealed that workers have not been paid their salaries for the past six months.

Though Dansa Foods Nigeria Limited is a member of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Sani Dangote, a brother of Aliko Dangote is the company’s Executive Chairman and runs its affairs, with Aliko’s shares embedded in the company.

The company which produces Dansa juice and other goods, it was learnt, has laid off more than half of the workforce following dwindling sales and high cost of production caused by high exchange rate of the Naira.

The company, our correspondent gathered, has suspended the production of Dansa juice and other products. ”We are only producing Mowa bottle water now,” a source at the company revealed.

But the workers are not taking it kindly with the management of the company and have insisted that their six months unpaid salaries be paid to them.

To this end, the workers have embarked on strike to press home their demand.

One of the workers who did not want his name mentioned said he and his colleagues decided to go on strike to force the management to pay their salaries.

”We are being owed six months. The company has refused to pay us so we are embarking on strike,” the worker added.

Efforts to speak with the management of the company proved unsuccessful as one of the managers refused to pick his phone calls.

Bloomberg in its latest Billionaire Index reports revealed that Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, lost $ 5.4 billion in his fortune this year.

The loss was occasioned by the massive fall of the Naira as the Central Bank of Nigeria rations the dollar to stem huge capital outflow in the wake of Nigeria’s worst economic crisis.
